West Ham players plan to visit Michail Antonio as he recovers from a serious car accident that left him hospitalized but stable
Essex: So, you heard about Michail Antonio, right? The West Ham forward had a pretty scary car crash last Saturday. Everyone was worried, but thankfully, he’s stable in the hospital now.
He had surgery for a leg injury and will be in recovery for a while. But the good news is he’s been able to chat with his teammates through video calls. They even won their match against Wolves while he was in the hospital!
Jarrod Bowen gave a shout-out to Antonio after scoring, which was really sweet. The team wore special ‘Antonio 9’ shirts during warm-ups, and they auctioned them off to raise money for the NHS and Air Ambulances UK. How cool is that?
West Ham’s boss, Julen Lopetegui, mentioned they’re planning to visit Antonio soon. He’s optimistic about Antonio’s recovery and wants to support him through this tough time.
Lopetegui said it was a miracle that Antonio is okay after such a bad crash. He’s focusing on getting better, both as a person and as a player. It’s a long road ahead, but he’s got the team behind him.
On another note, West Ham defender Emerson will miss the next game due to a suspension. But there’s some good news too—Niclas Fullkrug is back in action after dealing with injuries. He’s been training hard and is ready to contribute again.
