Vandals have damaged new play equipment in Erith, sparking outrage and calls for witnesses to step forward
Erith: So, there’s been a real bummer in Riverside Gardens. Some vandals went and wrecked the brand-new playground equipment that was just installed.
This stuff was supposed to be part of a big park makeover, set to open in spring 2025. Can you believe it?
Local folks are pretty upset and are being asked to help catch the culprits behind this nasty act. It’s just so disappointing.
Councillor Munur, who’s in charge of growth in Bexley, called it a “disgusting act of senseless vandalism.” He’s right; it really doesn’t do anything good for the community.
They’re teaming up with the police to track down whoever broke into the park and caused this mess. It’s a shame that people can be so thoughtless.
With so many flats nearby, the councillor is urging anyone who knows something to speak up. Every little bit helps!
The Riverside Gardens are still on track to open in spring 2025, featuring new seating, a playground, an outdoor fitness area, and even a community garden.
These upgrades are part of the Greater Erith programme, funded by the council and its partners. It’s all about making the area better for everyone.
