Alnwick: It’s a heartbreaking situation. Former England rugby player Tom Voyce is missing after his car went into the River Aln during a storm. Northumbria Police reported that he hasn’t been seen since Sunday.

Tom, 43, was out with friends and tried to cross Abberwick Ford when things went wrong. His car got caught in the river’s current, and despite efforts to find him, he hasn’t been located.

Police have been working hard, using drones and even dogs to search for him. They mentioned that the heavy rain from Storm Darragh made the river levels dangerously high, complicating the search.

Chief Superintendent Helena Barron expressed her condolences, saying it’s a tragic incident. The police are doing everything they can to support Tom’s family during this tough time.

Search teams, including volunteers from the North of Tyne Mountain Rescue, have joined in, but the conditions are really challenging. They’re hoping for the best but are facing tough circumstances.
