A man has died following a track casualty at Aldgate East station, prompting a response from emergency services and affecting local train services.
Aldgate: Today, a tragic event unfolded at Aldgate East underground station. Around 2 PM, the British Transport Police got a call about a man on the tracks.
They rushed to the scene with the London Ambulance Service. Sadly, the man was found injured and later passed away in the hospital.
According to a police spokesperson, the situation isn’t being treated as suspicious. They’re preparing a report for the coroner.
As a result of the incident, all Circle and District line services between Barking and Tower Hill were halted. The Circle line is back to a good service now, but the District line is still facing severe delays.
Also, the Hammersmith and City Line is impacted, with no trains running between Liverpool Street and Barking. Commuters can use their tickets on alternative routes like the London Overground and buses.
