A woman in her sixties lost her life after being hit by a car in Ilford, prompting a major emergency response on Saturday afternoon.
Ilford: A tragic incident unfolded on Saturday when a pedestrian in her sixties was struck by a car on Eastern Avenue. The collision was serious, involving other vehicles and even a building.
This all went down around 4:10 PM, and it brought out a huge response from emergency services, including the London Air Ambulance and the Fire Brigade. They really rushed to help.
Sadly, despite their efforts, the woman was pronounced dead right there at the scene. The police have informed her family, and they’re getting support from specialist officers during this tough time.
The driver of the car stayed at the scene and wasn’t arrested, which is a bit surprising. Now, detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are on the case, looking into what happened.
