London: Ange Postecoglou has a real puzzle on his hands for tonight’s Carabao Cup match against Manchester United. He needs to pick his starting XI, and it’s not easy.

He’s got to decide who to leave out from a strong group: Pape Matar Sarr, James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, or Brennan Johnson. All of them are playing well, so it’s a tough call.

Kulusevski can play in different positions, which makes it even trickier. Any of these guys could end up on the bench, and it’s all happening in north London.

On the defensive side, Postecoglou has fewer choices. He’s considering whether to play Destiny Udogie, who’s still feeling the effects of an early exit in the last game against Southampton.

If Udogie doesn’t play, Djed Spence might step in at left-back again. Yves Bissouma is back from suspension and should take over the No. 6 spot, replacing Lucas Bergvall.

Heung-min Son should be good to go after being subbed off at halftime last match. However, Spurs are still missing several key players due to injuries and suspensions.

Here’s how Tottenham might line up: Forster; Porro, Dragusin, Gray, Spence; Bissouma, Sarr, Maddison; Kulusevski, Son, Solanke.

Kick-off is at 8 PM GMT on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. You can catch the game on Sky Sports.
