Tottenham faces injury challenges with key players sidelined, but some are nearing a return to action soon
London: Tottenham is dealing with quite a few injuries as they head into their next match. Rodrigo Bentancur is the latest casualty after a nasty concussion against Liverpool.
Right now, they’re missing nine players, which is a tough spot to be in. Bentancur had to leave the game early, and it was a bit scary. He hit his head pretty hard and had to go to the hospital, but thankfully, he’s back home and recovering.
As for the rest of the squad, it’s not all doom and gloom. Some players are getting closer to returning. New signing Antonin Kinsky has been doing well in goal, which is a relief given the defensive struggles.
Fraser Forster has been out with a stomach bug, and it’s kept him from playing in recent matches. The timeline for his return is still up in the air. Destiny Udogie is also sidelined for about five weeks with a hamstring issue.
On a brighter note, Micky van de Ven is expected back by the end of January, which is great news for the defense. Cristian Romero and Ben Davies are also on track to return around the same time.
Guglielmo Vicario is back in training after ankle surgery, but he’ll need more time before he’s ready for a match. Richarlison is back in full training and could be back on the pitch soon, which fans will be excited about.
Unfortunately, Wilson Odobert is facing a longer recovery after a setback with his hamstring. The club is keeping a close eye on him as he heals.
So, while Tottenham has its fair share of injury woes, there’s hope on the horizon with some players nearing a return.
