Eat Momo in South London is hosting dumpling parties with top young chefs, featuring unique takes on traditional momos.
London: The Nepalese canteen Eat Momo is throwing some exciting “momo parties” with a lineup of talented young chefs. It’s a great way to enjoy delicious dumplings while supporting local culinary talent.
Founded by sisters Dipa and Trishna Chamling last year in Borough Yards, Eat Momo is all about celebrating their roots. The first event kicks off on January 28 with Hector Henderson from Rochelle Canteen, who’s whipping up a fried momo stuffed with minced beef and served with horseradish cream. Sounds tasty, right?
Next up in February is Lorcan Spiteri from Caravel, who’ll be serving cumin lamb momos with coriander chutney. And in March, Ana da Costa will bring her flair with a prawn-filled momo drizzled with peri-peri lemon sauce. Each chef is really putting their own spin on these traditional dumplings.
Of course, Dipa and Trishna will also be serving their signature momos, including pork, chicken, and paneer, along with some tasty dipping sauces. Plus, there’s a curated wine list by sommelier Zeren Wilson to complement the meal.
The sisters shared that opening Eat Momo was a way to honor their childhood in Nepal and share the joy of momo-making with London. They’re thrilled to see each chef add their personal touch to the momos, promising a fun experience every evening.
Tickets are just £25, which includes unlimited momos and a welcome drink. There will also be cocktails from Moth, and a portion of the sales will support the charity FoodCycle. What a great way to enjoy food and give back!
