London: A thief has been caught and jailed for snatching a woman’s pricey Louis Vuitton purse from a pub. It all went down at The Hercules Pub near Lambeth North station one evening in July.

The woman was just enjoying her drink when this guy decided to swipe her handbag. Inside, not only was the fancy purse, but there were also some Prada sunglasses worth over £400 and about £70 in cash.

They later identified the thief as 53-year-old Alfie Joseph Crawley from Surrey Quays. But that wasn’t his only crime. Just a few weeks later, he stole another handbag in Westminster, this time with £5,000 worth of personal items.

Crawley faced the music at Croydon Crown Court and pleaded guilty to both thefts. He got a sentence of 38 weeks, which is about eight and a half months behind bars.

On top of that, he also admitted to driving while disqualified and not providing a blood sample when pulled over in Lewisham. So, he’s looking at an extra 71 weeks of being banned from driving.
