An 18-year-old has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting outside a church in northwest London following a wake
London: An 18-year-old guy got arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was shot outside a church. This all went down after a wake, which is just so tragic.
The police took him in on Wednesday, and he’s still in custody. They’re really trying to get to the bottom of this. It all started when they got calls about a shooting on Gifford Road in Brent.
Michelle Sadio, the woman who was shot, was just 44 years old. She was outside the church with others when the incident happened around 9:15 PM on December 14. Sadly, despite the emergency services rushing to help, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other men in their 30s were also hurt. One is still in the hospital but is stable, while the other has been treated and sent home. It’s just a lot for everyone involved.
Detective Chief Inspector Phil Clarke is leading the investigation. He mentioned that while this arrest is a big step, they still need anyone with info to come forward. It’s a senseless act that took an innocent life, and Michelle’s family is heartbroken.
He’s urging anyone who knows anything to speak up. The police believe the shots came from a black Kia Niro, which had some unique alloys and a specific number plate. After the shooting, they found the car abandoned and set on fire on Barnhill Road.
