A video shows Elianne Andam’s last Snapchat moments before her tragic stabbing and the subsequent arrest of her attacker, Hassan Sentamu.
Croydon: A heartbreaking video has surfaced showing 15-year-old Elianne Andam just moments before she was fatally stabbed. The footage also captures the arrest of her attacker, 18-year-old Hassan Sentamu.
Sentamu confronted Elianne during a meeting that was supposed to be about returning belongings. Instead, he lost his cool and stabbed her with a kitchen knife. It all happened in a public area, which makes it even more shocking.
Elianne had recorded a Snapchat video expressing her frustration with Sentamu just before the incident. The prosecutor described how a simple act of solidarity for her friend led to a tragic outcome.
Sentamu had come prepared, armed with a knife, and when Elianne took back a bag meant for his ex-girlfriend, he chased her down and attacked. The injuries were severe, and despite quick medical response, Elianne sadly did not survive.
After the attack, Sentamu tried to flee but was caught at a nearby bus stop less than two hours later. He admitted to causing her death but claimed it was due to a loss of control linked to his autism diagnosis.
The court is currently hearing the case, and the prosecutor emphasized that while autism can present challenges, it doesn’t excuse such a violent act. Elianne’s family is understandably devastated as they sit through the trial.
