Urfan Sharif was reportedly assaulted by inmates at HMP Belmarsh, suffering injuries from a jagged tuna can lid on New Year’s Day
Woking: So, it turns out that Urfan Sharif, the father of Sara Sharif, got attacked in prison. Can you believe it? He was hit with a jagged lid from a tuna can!
This happened on New Year’s Day at HMP Belmarsh. Apparently, two other inmates ambushed him. He ended up with cuts on his neck and face, and now he’s getting medical care.
The police are looking into it, saying he suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The Prison Service is also checking out what went down.
Just to recap, Urfan and Sara’s stepmother, Beinash Batool, were sentenced to life in December for the horrific abuse that led to Sara’s tragic death. It’s just heartbreaking.
During the trial, the court heard how Sara endured unimaginable pain and suffering at home. It’s just so sad to think about what she went through.
Urfan got a minimum of 40 years, while Batool received 33 years. Sara’s uncle, Faisal Malik, was also jailed for 16 years for his role in her death.
The judge really laid it out, saying Sara’s death was the result of years of neglect and torture. It’s just a chilling reminder of how some people can treat others.
Now, the Prison Service is saying it’s not appropriate to comment further while the investigation is ongoing. But it’s definitely a situation that’s raising eyebrows.
