After his split from Zara McDermott, Sam Thompson is excited about new career opportunities and future projects
London: Sam Thompson’s New Year didn’t start off great after his breakup with Zara McDermott, but he’s focusing on his career, which is really taking off.
Fans were pretty surprised when they found out that Sam, 32, and Zara, 28, ended their five-year relationship earlier this month.
But Sam’s keeping his chin up and is super excited about what’s next for him.
He’s ready to leave reality TV behind and wants to follow in the footsteps of his idols, Ant and Dec.
Sam first appeared on reality TV back in 2013 with Made In Chelsea and has since done a ton of shows, from Celebrity Big Brother to Celebs Go Dating.
Winning I’m A Celebrity in 2023 was a huge moment for him, but he feels it’s time to move on to new challenges.
He’s thrilled to have joined Joel Dommett and Kemi Rodgers on I’m A Celebrity… Unpacked last year.
Sam already hosts his own show on Hits Radio, contributes to ITV’s This Morning, and co-hosts a popular podcast with his best mate Pete Wicks. Plus, he recently teamed up with Heinz for a comfort campaign.
He even made it into the Guinness Book of World Records for giving the most hugs in a minute—88 hugs, to be exact!
In a chat with The Standard, he shared his plans, saying he’s ready to step into hosting roles. He dreams of one day hosting This Morning.
Sam feels grateful for his reality TV journey but is eager to show he can be a great host. He learned a lot from watching Joel and Ant and Dec while filming in Australia.
Outside of TV, he’s also looking to write a book about ADHD, a condition he was diagnosed with at 30. He’s now an ambassador for ADHD UK.
Sam mentioned he’s got a big project coming up and is excited about writing a children’s book on ADHD, which he thinks would be fun and meaningful.
