Rick Stein’s Restaurant Hosts 40th Anniversary for Winchester Radio as Dining Scene Flourishes in Southwest

Rick stein: At Rick Stein’s High Street restaurant in Winchester, Winchester Radio celebrated its 40th anniversary festively. Formerly “Winchester Hospital Radio” since 1968, 94.7 FM is a vital community broadcaster. Volunteers, businesses, and the Winchester mayor celebrated the station’s service to older residents and community connections.

Restaurant Rick Stein generously hosted the celebration, and local businesses like The Mercure Winchester Wessex Hotel, Hotel Du Vin, and others donated raffle prizes. Tony Knight, a 40-year volunteer, expressed his excitement and hopes for a 2034 golden anniversary celebration. Winchester Radio Chair Anna O’Brien thanked volunteers and community partners for making the station a beloved resource.
