London: So, there was a bit of chaos at London Waterloo this morning. A small fire led to the evacuation of four platforms, and it really threw a wrench in the works for rail travelers.

Trains heading to Clapham Junction were particularly affected. South Western Railway warned that some trains might be canceled or delayed until around 10:30 AM, but thankfully, all lines are back up and running now.

The London Fire Brigade got the call about a smoke smell around 9:30 AM, and they quickly jumped into action. Platforms 20 to 24 were out of commission while they sorted things out.

To add to the mix, Avanti West Coast services are also facing disruptions today. The Rail, Maritime and Transport Union (RMT) is in the middle of a strike over working conditions, which means fewer trains are running.

Avanti is advising folks to travel on other days if they can, as this strike action will continue every Sunday until late May. Today, they’re only running one train an hour to places like Birmingham and Manchester.
