Portland in Fitzrovia is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a special half-price tasting menu for January
Portland: The Fitzrovia restaurant is throwing a party for its 10th birthday. They’re offering a tasting menu for just £55, which is half off their usual price. How cool is that?
The regular tasting menu is a six-course deal for £110. But during January, you can snag a five-course menu for £55. It’s like a best-of collection from their past hits, celebrating their journey.
This menu is a real treat. You’ll start with some welcome snacks, like a mushroom and parmesan macaron and liver parfait on crispy chicken skin. Then, there’s a starter of heritage carrots with a yummy Tunworth cheese sauce.
For the main course, they’re serving their famous beef Wellington, which was first made by co-founder Daniel Morgenthau. And don’t forget the pre-dessert chocolate ganache and a classic tarte Tatin for dessert!
Will Lander and Daniel Morgenthau opened Portland, and it quickly became a hit. They focused on warm hospitality and delicious food, which really paid off. They even snagged a Michelin star in their first year!
After that, Labron-Johnson left to start his own place, but Lander and Morgenthau kept going strong, creating the Woodhead group, which includes other popular spots like Quality Chop House.
Lander shared that they never aimed for fine dining. Instead, they wanted to serve great food in a cozy atmosphere. The love from their guests has been a huge part of their success.
Morgenthau added that they’re super thankful for their loyal customers who keep coming back. It’s all about that support!
