In a major operation, police have arrested 20 individuals in crime hotspots across south east London, addressing various offenses.
London: The police have been busy in south east London, making over 20 arrests in areas like Greenwich, Lewisham, and Bexley. They’re really cracking down on crime.
These newly recruited officers were out there, catching folks for all sorts of things—drink driving, robbery, and even some serious stuff like weapon possession.
They’ve also been handing out community protection warnings for shoplifting and other crimes that have been popping up.
As part of their training, these recruits teamed up with experienced Metropolitan Police officers to patrol the streets. They were all about engaging with the community and building trust.
Police Constable Victoria Ackford shared how great it was to connect with locals while on patrol. She said many people stopped to chat, which really made their day.
These conversations helped the officers understand the community better, and they felt honored to serve while learning the ropes.
Victoria and her colleagues are now pumped to move on to the next phase of their training, focusing on neighborhood policing. They’re eager to keep everyone safe and hold those who break the law accountable.
She also wished everyone a happy festive season and looks forward to strengthening ties with the public as they continue their work across London.
