A Plumstead man faces charges for allegedly communicating sexually with a child, following a police investigation initiated by a third-party report
Plumstead: A 45-year-old man named Ian James Brooker has been charged for allegedly engaging in sexual communication with a child. This all started when the police got a tip-off from someone on December 21.
Brooker, who lives on Balgowan Street, was arrested around 1 PM that same day. He was taken in on suspicion of the charges and has since been charged. He appeared in Bexley Magistrates’ Court on December 23 and pleaded guilty.
After his court appearance, he was granted bail and is set to return to Bromley Magistrates’ Court on February 4, 2025. The police spokesperson confirmed that the arrest was made early on December 21, following the report from a third party.
It’s a serious situation, and the police are taking it very seriously. The community is understandably concerned, and it’s important to keep everyone informed about such incidents.
