Paloma Faith shares how her late ADHD diagnosis has helped her understand herself better and inspired her latest charity single.
London: Paloma Faith is really opening up about her life after being diagnosed with ADHD. She’s 43 and says this diagnosis has helped her understand herself better.
She spent years feeling like something was off but didn’t get the diagnosis until about a year ago. It was a real eye-opener for her. She mentioned that it made a lot of things click into place.
Paloma finds the label “helpful,” even if some people don’t like them. She shared that during the assessment, she realized many of her struggles were linked to ADHD. It was like a light bulb moment for her.
She also pointed out that many people around her might be neurodiverse too. It’s interesting how neurodivergent folks often connect with each other, right?
On top of that, she’s been busy working on a new version of “Silent Night” with the Capital Children’s Choir. The song is called “Silent Night, Gentle Light” and it’s for a good cause.
All the royalties from the song will go to the Caudwell Children’s Charity. It’s part of an animated special called Ready Eddie Christmas!, which features a six-year-old autistic boy.
Paloma explained that the song is designed to be gentle and sensitive, especially for kids with autism. She wants it to spark conversations about daily experiences and make people feel more comfortable.
As for her Christmas plans, she’s all in! She’ll be playing Santa and handling all the holiday duties. She’s super excited about it, maybe even more than her kids!
Looking ahead, Paloma hinted that she’ll be working on new music and a podcast in 2025. Sounds like there’s a lot to look forward to!
By the way, you can check out “Silent Night, Gentle Light” on Spotify, Amazon Music, and Apple Music, and don’t miss Ready Eddie Christmas! on Sky Kids.
