Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta hints at a potential striker role for Ethan Nwaneri as the young talent impresses in his first-team appearances
London: Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, is really excited about Ethan Nwaneri. He thinks this young player could become a striker as he keeps growing in his game.
Nwaneri has already made a splash this season, mostly playing in midfield. He’s one of the two No8s for Arsenal and has scored four goals so far.
He’s set to start again when Arsenal takes on Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals. Arteta might put him in midfield, possibly taking over for captain Martin Odegaard.
But Arteta sees more potential in him. He mentioned that Nwaneri could also play as a striker. He’s got a knack for finding the goal and putting the ball in the net.
Arteta is celebrating five years at Arsenal and is eager to add more trophies to his collection. He’s already won the FA Cup and two Community Shields, but he’s not done yet.
He said, “We want to win and do everything we can to win it.” The pressure is on, especially at a big club like Arsenal, and they’re ready to chase those major trophies.
On Wednesday night, Arsenal will miss a few players due to injuries, including Ben White and Oleksandr Zinchenko. But Declan Rice is back and ready to go.
Arteta plans to field a strong team, saying, “It’s a very important match.” He knows Crystal Palace will be tough, especially since they’ll face them twice in just four days.
“We’ve prepared for that,” he added, showing he’s ready for the challenge ahead.
