A Metropolitan Police officer hilariously chased a drug dealer on his own bike in a dramatic pursuit in southeast London
London: You won’t believe what happened in southeast London! A cop chased down a drug dealer using the guy’s own bike. It was wild!
So, Sergeant Alan Cooley and PC Ama Thind were on patrol when they got a call about a woman who had her iPhone stolen. They quickly hit the streets to find the suspect.
They spotted Justice Oyedokun, a 22-year-old, hanging around looking suspicious. He matched the description and was just loitering there at 8:30 PM.
In a hilarious twist, PC Thind started chasing him on foot, while Sgt Cooley jumped on Oyedokun’s bike to join the chase. Talk about thinking on your feet!
Sgt Cooley shouted, “You might as well give up, mate!” Oyedokun shot back, “Get off of me, you fool!” It was like something out of a comedy show.
Later, Sgt Cooley shared that instead of riding off, Oyedokun ditched his bike. That’s when Cooley thought, “Why not use his bike?”
Watching the chase later, both officers laughed at how Oyedokun tried to lose them by running around a car. They joked that they “tyred him out” in a classic Benny Hill moment.
Cooley even mentioned the bike was a clapped-out old thing, and he couldn’t even change the gears. But hey, it worked!
After five minutes, backup finally arrived, and they cornered Oyedokun. He was tackled to the ground, and they found a stash of cannabis in a backpack nearby.
He got arrested for possession with intent to supply drugs. They even found the stolen phone and returned it to its owner. Win-win!
Sgt Cooley said they didn’t realize at first that Oyedokun had drugs on him; they thought he was just the phone thief. He loves his job and thinks it’s the best in the world.
On January 20, Oyedokun was sentenced to eight months in jail after pleading guilty to drug charges. What a story!
