A man has been arrested after a car struck four pedestrians in central London on Christmas Day, leaving one in critical condition
London: A man was arrested on Christmas Day after a car hit four pedestrians. It all went down in the busy theatre district around 12:45 AM.
Four people were rushed to the hospital, and one of them is in a life-threatening condition. The driver, a 31-year-old guy, is now facing serious charges.
Police say he might have been involved in a fight at a nightclub before he got behind the wheel and drove onto the pavement. Thankfully, they confirmed it’s not linked to terrorism.
It was a chaotic scene, with blood and clothing scattered on the pavement near a café. Forensic teams were busy collecting evidence, including shoes and other items.
The police cordoned off the area between two major theatres, and traffic is still affected today. Officers acted fast, arresting the suspect within minutes of the incident.
Detectives are on the case, and they believe the driver’s actions were isolated. If anyone has info, they’re encouraged to reach out to the police.
