Mark Woolley, who killed a woman during a robbery, has passed away in prison from cancer
London: A tragic story unfolded when Mark Woolley, a man with a dark past, died in prison. He was the one who ran over Elizabeth Sherlock while stealing her handbag. It’s a heartbreaking tale.
Woolley, 58, lost his battle with cancer at HMP Wayland last February. He had been serving a life sentence since 2001 for the murder of the 42-year-old costume designer.
It all started when his partner snatched Elizabeth’s designer bag. She bravely chased after them, even jumping on their car. But Woolley just smiled and sped off, tragically throwing her into the air.
As she lay there, seriously injured, he callously abandoned the car and used her bank card to get cash for drugs. It’s sickening to think about.
The judge didn’t hold back, calling Woolley’s actions appalling and showing a complete lack of humanity. He was sentenced to life but was released on licence in 2017.
However, he went on the run in early 2018, only to be caught later in Hackney. The report confirmed that he received good medical care while in prison, similar to what he would have had outside.
Woolley passed away on February 5 last year, leaving behind a story that still shocks many.
