Sabrina Elba, wife of actor Idris Elba, recently revealed a little regret about attending Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s 2018 wedding.
Sabrina said in a podcast interview that she never intended to attend the royal wedding. Prince Harry, whom Idris met through Prince Charles’ charitable events, invited her, making her excited and frightened.
St. George’s Chapel in Windsor hosted the wedding, which 750 million people watched. Sabrina wore a gorgeous Gucci coat dress, a partnership she delighted immensely. She may have selected a new look now.
On reflection, Sabrina says her attire was “a little loud” for a traditional affair. “I was so excited to wear Gucci, it was my first big brand,” she said. After years of red-carpet expertise, Sabrina may choose for a more subtle style today.
Sabrina liked the festivities despite her clothing remorse. Had the best time. Meghan and Harry are great people, she said, noting how odd it was to be part of such a historic event. The day’s global publicity surprised her, she said. Friends texted her to say they’d seen her on TV.
Idris Elba DJed the wedding. When Prince Harry asked Idris to DJ, he assumed it was casual. Harry asked, ‘What are you doing on the date?’ and I assumed he was joking, Idris recalled. He soon started making a royal couple’s wedding soundtrack.
Idris will appear on BBC One’s “Saturday Kitchen Live” with other culinary stars to discuss his experiences on screen and behind the DJ booth.
