Farmers from across the UK are set to rally in London against the controversial “tractor tax” impacting inheritance tax exemptions for farms
London: So, here’s the scoop. On Wednesday, a whole bunch of tractors are rolling into central London. It’s all part of a protest against what they’re calling the “tractor tax.”
Farmers are coming in from all over—places like Exmoor, Shropshire, and Somerset. They’re gathering on Whitehall starting at 10 am. There’ll be speeches at noon, and then they’ll take a slow drive around the city around 12:45 pm.
This protest, dubbed “RIP British Farming,” is the second big rally against Labour’s recent changes to inheritance tax. If a farm has assets over a million pounds, they’ll lose their tax exemption. That’s a big deal for many farmers.
Stay tuned for updates as this unfolds!
