Hit-and-run kills Kingsbury woman, closes busy road for over 10 hours

A woman in her 60s was killed early this morning in a terrible hit-and-run accident on Kingsbury Road in Brent. The accident happened on November 7 just before 12:30 a.m.; a car hit the pedestrian and then drove off.

The London Ambulance Service and the Metropolitan Police were among the first to arrive. As much as the medics tried to save her, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Since then, her family has been told.

The A4006 Kingsbury Road was closed in both directions between Roe Green and Church Lane for over 10 hours while investigators worked to gather evidence. This was the scene of the crime. Bus routes 183, 302, and SL10 were among the vehicles that had to be rerouted. The roads eventually reopened around 11 a.m.

Detectives want anyone who saw what happened to come forward, especially anyone with dashcam footage. The Met Police want anyone who knows who the driver is to call 101 or send a message to X @MetCC with the reference number 153/7NOV. People can also call Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111 and give tips without giving their names.

The London Ambulance Service said that paramedics got there five minutes after the call. They sent ambulances, fast-response cars, and an incident officer to help, but the woman’s injuries were too bad to treat.

This tragic accident shows how dangerous hit-and-runs are. People in the community are asked to share any information they may have to help the police get justice for the victim and her family.
