Declan Rice believes Arsenal’s performance in the derby deserved more goals
London: Declan Rice was buzzing after Arsenal’s win over Tottenham. He really felt they could have scored ten goals in that match. It was a solid performance from the Gunners.
They pulled off a 2-1 victory, which brought them closer to Liverpool at the top of the Premier League. After going down to a deflected goal from Heung-min Son, Arsenal bounced back strong.
Gabriel equalized with a header that went in off Dominic Solanke, thanks to a perfect corner from Rice. Then, Leandro Trossard scored the winner, sealing the deal for Arsenal.
But, man, they had so many chances! Kai Havertz missed a couple of headers, and both Raheem Sterling and Martin Odegaard couldn’t capitalize on some good opportunities in the box.
Rice was relieved to get back to winning ways after some tough cup losses to Newcastle and Manchester United. He knows they need to be sharper in front of goal.
“Tonight meant more than anything,” he said. “We dominated from the start. You could feel the derby energy. Honestly, we were a bit unlucky not to score ten goals.”
