A commuter at Blackfriars station was dragged by a train after getting too close to the tracks, highlighting safety concerns during the festive season
London: Recently, a shocking video surfaced showing a commuter at Blackfriars station getting dragged by a train. It’s a real eye-opener, especially with the holiday rush coming up.
The footage, shared by Govia Thameslink, shows the man getting way too close to the train. He slipped and got his bag stuck, which was just terrifying to watch.
Luckily, other commuters jumped in to help him get away from the tracks. It’s a reminder of how important it is to stay behind the yellow safety line.
Thameslink released this video to raise awareness about safety, especially since they’ve seen a rise in accidents lately. Samantha Facey, their Health Safety & Security Director, emphasized the need for caution during the busy festive season.
She mentioned that last winter, there were over 150 incidents of slips and falls on the network. That’s a lot! It’s crucial for everyone to take their time and not rush for trains.
Intoxication has been linked to many of these accidents, especially around Christmas when people are out celebrating. Just a few months ago, another passenger had a scary experience when their hand got caught in a train door.
That person ended up running alongside the train for about 60 meters, which sounds absolutely terrifying. Thankfully, they only suffered minor injuries, but it’s a clear sign that we all need to be more careful.
