Forecasters predict a mild Christmas Day for London, dampening hopes for a snowy holiday
London: It looks like Londoners might not get that dreamy white Christmas after all. Forecasters are saying we’re in for a pretty mild day.
With just a week to go until the big day, everyone’s been buzzing about the chance of snow. But it seems like the capital will be more about sunshine than snowflakes.
Earlier predictions hinted at a frosty start, but now it seems we’ll be enjoying some pleasant weather instead. Sure, the northern parts of the country might see a bit of snow, but London? Not so much.
The BBC is calling for “sunny intervals and light winds” on December 25, which sounds perfect for a family stroll in one of our lovely parks.
Temperatures could hit around 13 degrees, and it looks like we won’t have to worry about rain for now. The Met Office says we might see some frost and fog, but overall, it should be a nice day.
It’s just a tad cooler than last year when we had the warmest Christmas Eve in over two decades, hitting 15.3C. Can you believe that?
As we gear up for New Year’s Eve, the weather is expected to stay mild, although we might see some frost and fog overnight.
It’s a big change from the wild weather we’ve been having lately. While Storm Darragh caused some serious issues earlier this month, this week is still bringing some strong winds.
Greater London is bracing for gusts up to 45 mph today, which is definitely a chilly wake-up call for commuters. The winds will peak around 8 am before calming down a bit, but they’ll pick up again later in the evening.
Other areas might see even stronger winds, leading to yellow warnings and some road closures. So, if you’re traveling, be prepared for possible delays.
