A charity shop in Belvedere shuts down early following an assault on a worker just before Christmas Eve, leaving the community in shock
Belvedere: A charity shop had to close its doors early after a worker was attacked right before Christmas Eve. It’s such a bummer, especially during the holiday season.
Police got called to The Animal Protection Shop on Nuxley Road late on December 23. They found a woman with some minor injuries on her face. Thankfully, it wasn’t worse.
But here’s the kicker: the attacker is still on the loose, and the police are actively searching for her. It’s a bit scary, to be honest.
The shop’s managing director, Carrie Holliman, said they had no choice but to shut down after the incident. She mentioned that the worker was blindsided and fell to the ground during the attack.
If anyone knows anything, the police are asking for tips. You can call them at 101 or reach out on X with the reference CAD 2298/23DEC. They’re also encouraging people to contact Crimestoppers anonymously if they prefer.
