Arne Slot explains Jarell Quansah’s substitution due to illness in Liverpool’s defeat to Tottenham in the Carabao Cup semi-final.
London: So, Jarell Quansah had to come off just 30 minutes into the game against Tottenham. It turns out he was feeling pretty unwell, according to Arne Slot.
Quansah started the match alongside Virgil van Dijk, but he went down off the ball and had to be replaced by Wataru Endo. Fans were worried, especially since Liverpool is already dealing with injuries to Joe Gomez and Ibrahima Konate.
After the match, Slot mentioned he hadn’t had a detailed chat with Quansah yet, but it seems the young defender was still recovering from being ill recently. He said Quansah felt some pressure in his chest during the game.
Slot explained, “It happened so quickly. He came off, and the game just carried on. He mentioned he wasn’t feeling well, but it wasn’t an injury.”
He added that they thought Quansah was getting better, but maybe he wasn’t quite ready yet. It’s a tough break for Liverpool, but it sounds like Quansah will be okay.
