Bromley: Residents are gearing up for some serious road changes as Thames Water kicks off important repair work. The local council has confirmed that starting Wednesday, December 18, several streets will be affected.

And get this, there’s no set end date for the work, which could stretch on for up to 18 months. So, drivers might have to find new routes through local streets during this time.

Some of the roads that will be closed include Albert Road in Penge, Barnet Wood Road in Hayes, and Berrys Hill in Cudham. Other spots like Fox Lane in Keston and Farnborough High Street will also see restrictions.

It’s going to be a bit of a hassle, as no vehicles will be allowed to wait or drive along certain roads while the repairs are happening. But don’t worry, emergency vehicles will still be able to get through.

The council is doing its best to keep access open for residents living on the closed roads. They’ve also advised everyone to keep an eye out for traffic signs indicating which streets are closed.

If you have any questions about the work, the council’s Environmental Services Department is the place to reach out to. Colin Brand, the council’s Director of Environment and Public Protection, has issued the notice.

A spokesperson for Bromley Council mentioned that the highways team is working closely with Thames Water to minimize disruption. They appreciate everyone’s patience during this time.
